Everything that a good office chair should be able to do
The five-arm base provided with so-called slides or, more frequently,
travel wheels whose materials correspond to the floor type, best ensures
the required chair stability. The central spring damps the downward motion
and other vertical motions of the body, so that it is considerate to
the back and spinal disk. The seat corresponds to the anatomy of the
human body - it should be sufficiently wide and deep and height-adjustable.
More expensive chairs sometimes allow for variable depth setting, i.e.
a more perfect adaptation to the individual constitution.
The seat back corresponds to the curve of the backbone. The height adjustment
of the entire seat back or of the backbone area should make it possible
to adapt the seat to the individual bodily constitution. The possibility
of an adjustment in the forward-backward direction, which ensures good
support of the body, is also important. The mount of the so-called synchronous
mechanism is a great advantage; it enables automatic adaptation of the
seat back to the bodily motion. The corresponding strength of the permanent
counter-pressure on the back can be adjusted or the seat back can be
locked in a certain position. The armrests should be height-adjustable.
The possibility of their side deflection is also significant; you will
appreciate this option after working for a long time with a computer
mouse.
When deciding what chair to buy, we should also take into account the environment
in which the chair will be used and how frequently it will be used. Generally,
the chair upholstering and cover must have the corresponding physical properties,
which means that they must be permeable, have the ability to remove moisture
and heat, should be durable and washable. |
